The City of Laredo is recognized as the seat of Webb County, and is situated on the north bank of the Rio Grande in South Texas. As the tenth-most populous city in the state, Laredo features a little something for everyone, including a bustling entertainment district, all sorts of museums, and a modern planetarium.
Due to a semiarid climate, Laredo regularly features blistering temperatures. Because of its geographic location, local weather patterns range from long periods of extreme heat to sudden storms. Believe it or not, Laredo experiences an average high temperature of 101 degrees in the summer. It's no wonder the area's soccer team is known as the Laredo Heat!
